Get in touchSmart Export Guarantee
If your Solar PV system is generating more electricity than you need to run your property, the surplus will be sent to the National Grid.
If you have a Smart Meter installed, electricity suppliers offer payment for each kWh of power that you export. There are no set or minimum tariffs for the Smart Export Guarantee, however, it must be greater than zero at all times.
Solar Energy UK publish a league table of tariffs available which is updated on a frequent basis.

Solar PV (short for photovoltaics), uses the energy from the sun to produce electricity that can then be used within your home, allowing you to generate your own renewable electricity.
By installing solar panels you will not only reduce your bills by generating your own electricity, but you will also reduce your carbon footprint meaning it’s a win-win for your pocket and the environment.
Why choose solar PV?
Reduce electricity bills
All the energy that you generate can be used to reduce your energy bills either through self consumption, or, if you are producing more energy than you consume by selling back to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee scheme; charge a battery storage system or if you have a hot water tank divert the excess to keep the hot water topped up. Data on savings shown is from Energy Saving Trust.
Reduce your carbon footprint
Solar panels help to reduce your carbon by using less carbon sourced electricity. In June 2025, an average of 39% of electricity generated was from non-zero carbon sources.
Protection from rising energy bills
The cost of electricity over the longer term continues to rise, however, any electricity you generate will offset these rises, leading to lower electricity bills for you.
Battery Storage
Add battery storage to your solar panel system and maximse the benefits of the electricity generated by storing excess energy which you can use at night or during peak demand.
